Kim and Guy Lane moved to the Kenai Peninsula in the winter of 1998 originally to build handcrafted log homes, Guy became a coast guard certified fishing guide then he learned to chainsaw carve and implement the carvings into the handcrafted log homes and cabins constructed by the family.
After seven years of guiding on the Kenai River we decided that it was better to carve and be together while working as a family instead of Guy spending the entire summer on the Kenai River....we have a lot of fun and we still get out on the rivers!!!
Our son Troy is a wonderful artist and now he is learning to run the chainsaw so we are anxious to see where his artistic talent takes him. Troy makes handcarved canoes out of cedar which can also be purchased from our carving shop or online.
Katie & Emily are doing wood burning art and are wonderful helpers when it comes to cleaning up all the wood and sawdust!!!
Kim manages Alaska Bear Factory, helps with the chainsaw carvings ...paperwork and website.....and feed all the hungry family members
We have now moved to beautiful Prince of Wales Island and we are getting settled in at Thorne Bay.
